Yuan-pai (English spelling)

Japanese: 袁派 - えんぱ（英語表記）Yuan-pai

This refers to the school of painters from the early Qing Dynasty, including Yuan Jiang, Yuan Yao, and Yuan Tao, who were court painters at the time. Painters from this school were influenced by the Northern School of Painting and the Zhejiang School of Painting, and used strong brushstrokes to create three-dimensional landscape paintings. They also excelled in border paintings, and showed a unique style in the art world. Li Yin, who influenced the Yuan family, is sometimes also included in this school.

中国，清初の宮廷画院画家であった袁江，袁曜や袁濤系の一派を呼ぶ。この派の画家は北宗画や浙派 (せっぱ) の影響を受け，強い筆致で立体感のある山水画を描き，同時に界画をも得意とし画壇で特異な画風を示した。また袁氏一族に影響を与えた李寅 (りいん) をこの派に加える場合もある。
