Ellison, EH

...A disease caused by a tumor (gastrinoma) of cells that produce gastrin, which occurs in the pancreas or the stomach/duodenal wall. It was named after the American surgeons RM Zollinger and EH Ellison, who first reported a case in 1955. It is characterized by hypergastrinemia, increased gastric acid secretion, and intractable peptic ulcers, which cause symptoms such as lower back pain, diarrhea, hematemesis, and bloody stool.
