Ionization potential

The amount of ionization energy expressed in electron volts. It is also called ionization potential or ionization voltage. Ionization energy is often expressed in electron volts because of the history of experimental measurements of ionization energy by the accelerating voltage of electrons. When 1 electron volt (eV) is converted to energy per mole, it is:

≒23.06 kcal/mol
Here, N _A is Avogadro's constant.

イオン化エネルギーを電子ボルト単位で表した量。イオン化電位あるいはイオン化電圧ともいう。電子の加速電圧によってイオン化エネルギーを測定した実験的歴史があるため、イオン化エネルギーを電子ボルトで記載することが多い。1電子ボルトeVをモル当りのエネルギーに換算すると、
　　N_A eV＝9.648456×10⁴J/mol
　　　　　≒23.06kcal/mol
となる。ただしN_Aはアボガドロ定数。
