The National Council of Christians in Japan. A liaison and consultation body for Protestant denominations and organizations in Japan, with the goal of promoting "unity in Christ" through mutual communication, harmonious relations, and cooperation. Founded in 1922 by the Japan Christian Federation due to the need for communication with various organizations, it achieved success in the socialist movement as a representative organization of Protestantism. It was dissolved in 1941 with the founding of the United Church of Christ in Japan, but due to the need for a liaison body, it was re-established in 1948 under the name of NCC.
