Japanese: NCC - エヌシーシー（英語表記）National Christian Council of Japan

The National Council of Christians in Japan. A liaison and consultation body for Protestant denominations and organizations in Japan, with the goal of promoting "unity in Christ" through mutual communication, harmonious relations, and cooperation. Founded in 1922 by the Japan Christian Federation due to the need for communication with various organizations, it achieved success in the socialist movement as a representative organization of Protestantism. It was dissolved in 1941 with the founding of the United Church of Christ in Japan, but due to the need for a liaison body, it was re-established in 1948 under the name of NCC. 日本基督教協議会。日本におけるキリスト教プロテスタントの教派や諸団体の連絡・協議機関であって，相互の連絡，親和をはかり協力して「キリストにある一致」を推進することを目的とする。 1922年日本基督教連盟が諸団体との連絡の必要から創設され，プロテスタントの代表機関として，社会主義運動などに実績を残した。 41年日本基督教団創立とともに発展的解消をとげたが，連絡機関の必要性から，48年 NCCの名をもって再建された。 (→日本のキリスト教 )
