Song - Eikyoku

...A general term for songs from the Heian, Kamakura, and Muromachi periods. Also written as Eikyoku. In the early Heian period, it referred to Kagura songs, Saibara, Fuzoku songs, and Rourei-style Gagaku songs. From the mid-Heian period onwards, Imayo and Zougei types were added, and in the Kamakura period, Souga was also added.
