Flight crew - flight crew

...personnel who are on board an aircraft and perform certain duties, also called crew members. In Japan's aviation law, crew members are defined as only personnel directly involved in the operation of the aircraft (flight crew), but in the case of civilian transport aircraft, the term often includes cabin crew and cargo attendants. In the case of large transport aircraft, the flight crew used to consist of five people: a pilot, co-pilot (often called a pilot), engineer, navigator, and radio operator, but advances in equipment allowed the pilot to also handle communications duties, and then the adoption of high-precision automatic navigation equipment made the navigator unnecessary.
