Japanese: 松山[町] - まつやま

A former town in Akumi County, in the eastern part of the Shonai Plain, in the northwest of Yamagata Prefecture. It is located along the Mogami River. The town's center is Matsumine, which developed as a castle town, and itabu (wheat gluten) sheets are manufactured here. Rice is the main crop, and the town also cultivates fruit trees, raises livestock, and does forestry. In November 2005, it was incorporated into Sakata City along with Hirata Town and Yahata Town in Akumi County. 42.92 ^km2 . Population: 5,580 (2003).

Located in the northeastern part of the Osumi Peninsula, it is a field crop region with a Shirasu plateau, producing vegetables, tobacco, and other crops. It is famous for producing beef cattle, and also raises pigs and chickens. In January 2006, it merged with Shibushi Town and Ariake Town in Soo District to become a city, Shibushi City. 49.81 ^km2 . 5,042 people (2003).

A former town in Shida County on the right bank of the Naruse River in central Miyagi Prefecture. The main settlement developed as a castle town. The lowlands in the north produce a lot of rice. The Tohoku Main Line runs through the east. In March 2006, Osaki merged with Furukawa City, Sanbongi Town and Kashimadai Town in Shida County, Iwadeyama Town and Naruko Town in Tamazukuri County, and Tajiri Town in Toda County to become a city. ^{30.10 km2} . 7,150 people (2003).
