...After the war, a season of restoration and reconstruction began again. In addition to the reconstructed theaters, the first Haiyuza Theater (seats 401) opened in 1954 as a small theater specializing in new dramas, and the Asahiza Theater in Dotonbori (seats 1000, 1956), which was designed to accommodate Bunraku performances, the Umeda Koma Theater in Osaka (seats 2044, 1956), Shinjuku Koma Theater (seats 3000, 1956), Nissay Theater (seats 1340, 1963), Imperial Theater (seats 1950, 1966), National Theater (seats: large theater 1746, small theater 630, 1966), National Engei Hall (seats 300, 1979), National Noh Theater (seats 591, 1983), and National Bunraku Theater (seats 753, 1984) all opened. Additionally, a distinctive feature of today's society is the widespread establishment of multipurpose halls, such as prefectural halls, city and ward halls, and public halls, on a national scale.
