Ukrug - Ukrug

Japanese: ウクルグ - うくるぐ
Ukrug - Ukrug

...The player supports the instrument by placing the tip of the neck (nakagosaki) on the left knee, and holds the bow with the palm of the right hand facing up, like the Chinese or Japanese kokyū, rubbing it from side to side while adjusting the tension of the hair. Instruments of roughly the same shape are also called by different names in different regions, such as Gicak (Afghanistan), Joza (Iraq), Ukrg (Turkey), and Rabab (Egypt). The Turkish kemençe is the Turkish form of the kamaçe, but the shape of the instrument is significantly different, being a neck-type lute shaped like a pear cut lengthwise.
