Westminster Bank

…the largest of the four major clearing banks in the UK. It was formed in 1968 by the merger of Westminster Bank, the fourth largest clearing bank at the time, National Provincial Bank, the fifth largest, and the independent District Bank. This merger was the largest in the history of British banking and sparked a wave of mergers that followed.
