Winchester School

…In America, it refers to a public school, while in England, it refers to a traditional, privileged private secondary school. Its origins are said to be Winchester College (1382), which was connected to New College, Oxford and taught Latin grammar. Eton College (1440) and other schools followed suit, using this as a model.
