Theory of Industrialism

...Generally, it refers to the society that emerged after the Industrial Revolution. It is sometimes equated with industrial society, but the term industrial society can also include post-industrial society. The term industrial society is used beyond the distinction between capitalism and socialism. Generally, when it comes to long-term historical changes, a stage-based diagram of pre-industrial society (pastoral/agricultural society) → industrial society → post-industrial society is often used.

Industrial society is characterized by its industrial and occupational structure and technology, such as manufacturing, blue-collar workers, and mass production technology. …一般的には，産業革命の後に生まれた社会を指す。ときに工業社会と等置されるが，脱工業社会post‐industrial societyをも含めて産業社会と呼ぶ場合がある。資本主義，社会主義の区別を超えて，産業社会という用語が使われる。通例，長期の歴史変動に関して，前工業社会(牧畜･農耕社会)→工業社会→脱工業社会という段階論的な図式の用いられることが多い。
