...After writing his masterpiece, Omoseyama Onna Teikin (collaboration with Miyoshi Shoraku and others) in 1771, he wrote many domestic plays during the An'ei period (1772-1781), including Shinju Kamiya Jihei (a revision of Shinju Ten no Amijima; the first volume is the current Kawasho), Utasaibun (New Edition), and others. In 1783 (Tenmei 3), he wrote his last masterpiece, Igagoe Dochu Sugoroku, and died on February 4th, aged 59 (there are differing theories about the year of his death)....
