…The large number of bronze artefacts found at this site indicates the beginning of the Bronze Age in Central Europe. The culture was centred in Bohemia and Moravia, and features intricately bent copper wire ornaments, heavy bronze collars (ingot torques), long, thin-bladed axes, and daggers and halberds with riveted handles. Some of these are found in the Rhineland of Germany and in northern Austria, and also influenced the culture of Wessex in England. …
