Image sensor. A general term for devices (semiconductors) such as CCD and CMOS that convert the light they receive into an electrical signal. They are also called "imagers" or imaging elements. They detect light images by arranging many small elements (phototransistors) also called photosensors, and convert them into electrical signals. In a film camera, they also play the role of the film. image sensor。受けた光を電気信号に変換する働きのある、 CCD や CMOS などの装置（半導体）の総称。「イメージャー」とか撮像素子ともいう。フォトセンサーとも呼ばれる小さな素子（フォトトランジスタ）を多数並べて光の像を検知し、それを電気信号に変換する。フィルムカメラでいえばフィルムの役割も果たしている。
