Achyranthes genus

...Other varieties include Amoena cv. Amoena and Brilliantissima cv. Brilliantissima. When the Japanese laurel was first introduced to Japan, it was mistakenly classified as Achylanthes , and the name Achylanthes spread. Also, when the Achylanthes genus was subdivided, it was placed in the Telanthera genus, so it is called Telanthera. However, it is often called Alternanthera these days.
