Measurable set

Japanese: 可測集合 - かそくしゅうごう（英語表記）measurable set

Let R be a Euclidean space. A set for which the Lebesgue measure, an extension of the concepts of area and volume in R , is defined is called a Lebesgue measurable set. If we write the set of Lebesgue measurable sets as M , M has the following properties. (1) The empty set φ belongs to M. (2) If A ∈ M , then its coset R - A ∈ M. (3) If A ₁ , A ₂ , ..., A _n , ... ∈ M , then their union set A can be derived from these three properties as follows: (4) The entire space R belongs to M. (5) The set obtained by performing the union, difference, and intersection of sets in M at most countably infinite times belongs to M.

Rをユークリッド空間とする。Rにおける面積や体積の概念の拡張であるルベーグ測度が定義されている集合をルベーグ可測集合という。ルベーグ可測集合の全体をMと書くことにするとMは次の性質をもつ。(1)空集合φはMに属する。(2)A∈Mならば，その余集合R－A∈M。(3)A₁,A₂，……，A_n，……∈Mならばそれらの合併集合Aはこの三つの性質から次のことが導かれる。(4)全空間RはMに属する。(5)Mに属する集合の合併，差，共通部分を作る演算をたかだか可算無限回行って得られる集合はMに属する。
