commercial geography

...Geography, a term used in Europe to describe land, was used in ancient Greece, so economic geography, which describes the spatial distribution of economic activities, products, and transportation routes in various regions, can be said to have existed since ancient times. Such descriptions were passed down as knowledge necessary for commercial activities, and in the 19th century came to be known as commercial geography (sometimes translated as product geography). In modern geography, which was established in the second half of the 19th century, the field that explains regional differences in economic phenomena or the process of regional differentiation was considered to be a branch of geography, and terms such as agricultural geography, industrial geography, and transportation geography came to be used according to the economic activities that were the subject of the field.
