Ichimonji (sword)

...The characteristics of the Kobizen school are that the swords are generally long and slender, and the blade pattern is a straight blade with small irregularities, giving it an ancient elegance. The Kobizen school continued to flourish into the Kamakura period, but eventually the Fukuoka Ichimonji school appeared in Fukuoka (Osafune-cho, Oku-gun), and produced many master craftsmen up until the mid-Kamakura period. This school was founded by Norimune, who was the official blacksmith for Emperor Gotoba, and in the early period, Sukemune, Yasunori, Narimune, Naomune, and Muneyoshi were among the famous swordsmiths, and in the mid-Kamakura period, Yoshifusa, Norifusa, and Sukezane were famous....
