Tochio [Hot Springs] - Tochio

Japanese: 栃尾[温泉] - とちお

This hot spring is located in Kamitakara Village, Yoshiki District, Gifu Prefecture. It opened as a single hot spring inn at the confluence of the Takahara River and the Gamadagawa River, on the western foot of the Hotaka mountain range in the Northern Alps. The water is a simple spring with a temperature of 49-92°C, and was drawn from Shinhotaka Hot Springs upstream of the Gamadagawa River in 1961. The water is supplied to each home in the village for heating purposes. There is also an open-air bath, and you can enjoy river fish and wild vegetable dishes. 岐阜県吉城（よしき）郡上宝（かみたから）村にある温泉。北アルプスの穂高連峰西麓，高原川と蒲田（がまだ）川の合流点に，一軒宿の温泉として開かれた。泉質は単純泉，泉温は49～92℃で，1961年に蒲田川上流の新穂高温泉から引湯した。湯は集落内の各戸に暖房用として供給されている。露天ぶろもあり，川魚料理，山菜料理も楽しめる。高山本線高山駅からバスで約1時間半。【谷沢明】
