One-part format

...that is, the same musical idea is repeated through a contrasting middle section, both in melody and key. A melody consisting of only one large section is also called one-part form, and is sometimes included in lied form, but this is less common. The above forms may be the form of an entire piece, or they may form part of a larger form, for example as a theme form in a dance, variation, or sonata.
