Italian Cypress - Itariaitosugi

...The seeds of the cones take two years to ripen. The Italian cypress C. sempervirens L. (illustration) is native to southern Europe, and in Japan it is often cultivated as a species for cutting branches. There are two cultivars, Pyramidalis, which has a conical shape, and Horizontalis, which has a cylindrical shape, and they look beautiful when planted in rows in the garden.
