…A mammal of the family Bovidae. A domestic cattle (domestic bovine) kept around the world for milk, meat, and work. There are European and Asian (zebu) species. Cattle is also a general term for the genus Bos , which includes wild cattle such as the banteng, gaua, and yak, or for the subfamily Bobinae, which includes the bison and water buffalo.
