Cashew resin paint - Cashew resin paint
A synthetic lacquer paint made by oxidatively polymerizing cashew nut shell liquid or similar natural phenol-containing substances at high temperatures, or by condensing them with formalin. Some are modified with synthetic resins such as alkyd resins. The dried coating has high hardness and excellent gloss, oil resistance, acid resistance, heat resistance, and electrical insulation, and is widely used as a substitute for lacquer on lacquerware, furniture, and other industrial purposes.

カシューナッツの殻液またはこれと類似の天然フェノール含有物質を高温で酸化重合させたり,ホルマリンなどと縮合させてつくった合成漆塗料。アルキド樹脂などの合成樹脂で変性したものもある。乾燥塗膜は硬度が高く,光沢,耐油性,耐酸性,耐熱性,電気絶縁性などにすぐれ,漆の代用として漆器,家具,その他工業用にも広く利用される。
