Aluminosilicate glass - Alumino Glass

...Silica glass consisting only of _SiO2 is the best in terms of heat resistance, but due to the high manufacturing costs, various types of heat-resistant glass are produced. Representative examples include Vycor (a registered trademark of Corning Inc., USA), which was developed to easily produce glass with a composition as close as possible to that of silica glass; borosilicate glass, which reduces the amount of alkali and alkaline earth elements that cause a decrease in heat resistance _and improves the difficulty of melting by adding _{B2O3 ;} and aluminosilicate glass, which introduces alkaline earth elements but adds _Al2O3 to make the glass structure closer to that of silica glass. The representative compositions are shown in the table below.
