...The coastal area (northern part) of the regency is flat and fertile farmland, where rice, sugarcane, etc. are produced. In the south, to the east is Mount Bromo (2,392m), a famous tourist destination and sacred mountain, and to the west is the beautiful volcano Mount Arjuna (3,239m). At the foot of Mount Arjuna is the summer resort of Tretes, and nearby is the Jawi Temple, a ruin of the Singhasari dynasty.
