Arisue Seizo

Arisue Seizo
1895-1992 A military officer from the Taisho and Showa periods.
Born May 22, 1895. Served as military attaché in Italy and chief of the Second Department of the General Staff. In 1945, he became a lieutenant general. Immediately after Japan's defeat, he accepted the Allied occupation forces and also organized the Arisue Agency to provide information on the Soviet Union to GHQ. In 1970, he became chairman of the Japan Kyoyu Renmei, an organization for former military personnel. He passed away on February 14, 1992, at the age of 96. He was born in Hokkaido and graduated from the Army War College. He is the author of "Arisue Seizo Memoirs."

明治28年5月22日生まれ。イタリア駐在武官,参謀本部第二部長などを歴任。昭和20年陸軍中将。敗戦直後,連合軍進駐の受け入れにあたり,また,有末機関を組織してGHQに対ソ情報を提供した。45年旧軍人団体の日本郷友連盟会長。平成4年2月14日死去。96歳。北海道出身。陸軍大学校卒。著作に「有末精三回顧録」。
