There are several species of coffee plants, but the Arabian coffee plant (Coffea arabica L., English name: common coffee, Arabian coffee) (illustration) accounts for 90% of the world's production. Other species cultivated include the Congo coffee plant ( Coffea robusta Linden) and the Liberian coffee plant (Coffea liberica Bull.).
