An imperial princess from the mid-7th century. Her father was Emperor Bidatsu, and her mother was the daughter of Ise Oshika-kubi Oguma, who became a court lady [G7EDF Nako/Unako]. She is also known as Takara-o, Nukshirohime-o, Tamura-o, and Tamura no Hime. She became the wife of her half-brother, Prince Osasakahikohito no Oe, and in the first year of the reign of Suiko (593), she gave birth to Prince Tamura (Emperor Jomei), as well as Prince Nakatsu and Prince Tarano. She was the grandmother of Emperor Tenchi, and was honored with the title Shima no Omo no Mikoto. She is thought to have lived a very long life. She was buried in the Osasaka Tomb (Oshizaka, Sakurai City) within the tomb of Emperor Jomei. The name Tamura comes from the name of the land that is now Amatsujicho, Nara City.

7世紀半ばの皇女。父は敏達天皇,母は伊勢大鹿首小熊の娘で采女となった夫人【G7EDF名子/うなこ】。別名宝王,糠代比売王,田村王,田村皇女とも。異母兄押坂彦人大兄皇子の妻となり,推古1(593)年に田村皇子(舒明天皇)を,また中津王,多良王を生む。天智天皇の祖母に当たり,島皇祖母命と尊称された。かなりの長寿であったと思われる。舒明天皇陵内押坂墓(桜井市忍坂)に葬られた。田村の名は現奈良市尼辻町に当たる土地の名にちなんだもの。
