American Cocker Spaniel

Japanese: アメリカン・コッカー・スパニエル（英語表記）American Cocker Spaniel

A medium-sized dog native to the United States. It was developed by improving the English Cocker Spaniel. Its upper lip droops and its lower jaw is hidden. It is a pet dog with long, voluminous fur. It is also an excellent hunting dog, faithful to its master's commands and persistent in pursuing its prey. The main character in the Disney movie "Lady and the Tramp" is this breed. The JKC classifies it in Group 8 (bird hunting dogs other than pointers and setters). ◇It is also simply called the Cocker Spaniel.

アメリカ合衆国原産の中型犬。イングリッシュ・コッカー・スパニエルを改良して作られた。上唇が垂れ下がって下顎が隠れている。長くて量の多い被毛をもつ家庭愛玩犬。猟犬としても優れており、主人の命令に忠実で粘り強く獲物を追う。ディズニー映画「わんわん物語」の主人公は、この品種。JKCでは、第8グループ（ポインター・セター以外の鳥猟犬）に分類する。◇単にコッカー・スパニエルともいう。
