Ahome Kingdom - Ahome Kingdom

...A state in the northeastern corner of India. It has an area of ​​79,000 ^km2 and a population of 22.41 million (1991). Its capital is Dispur. It is mainly made up of the narrow valley plain of the Brahmaputra River, which stretches approximately 700 km east to west and 50 to 100 km north to south. The elevation of the plain is about 130 m in the east and 30 m in the west, low considering its location inland, and the average gradient is only 12 cm/km. As a result, the Brahmaputra River is turbulent and there is a marked development of islands in the river. To the north of the river, numerous small rivers flowing down from the steep eastern Himalayas form a complex alluvial fan, forcing the river's course southward.
