Born in 1600. Son of Prince Atsumi. Received the abbotship from his elder brother Kancho, a Shingon sect priest, and then from Gango. After serving as the head priest of Kanshuji Temple and the head priest of Ninnaji Temple, he became the head priest and legal affairs officer of Toji Temple and the head priest of Mount Koya in 1604. The following year, he became the head priest of Todaiji Temple. In 1605, he was promoted to Daisojo (Great Priest) and passed away on October 25, 1606. He was 87 years old.
