Class: Pycnogonidae, Order: Pycnogonidae. Body length: about 8 mm, walking leg length: about 1.5 cm. Adults live in shallow sea sand and mud, while larvae live parasitically in the mantle cavity of several bivalve mollusks (→ Bivalves), such as the clam and the ocellated shell. They have been found in Tokyo Bay, along the coasts of Kyushu, and in southern France. ウミグモ綱ウミグモ目イソウミグモ科。体長約 8mm,歩脚の長さ約 1.5cm。成体は浅海の砂泥中にもぐっているが,幼生はアサリやシズクガイなど数種の二枚貝(→二枚貝類)の外套腔内に寄生している。東京湾,九州各地沿岸と南フランスから発見されている。(→ウミグモ類,節足動物)
