The world's first covered baseball stadium was completed in Houston, Texas, USA in 1965. It is covered with a plastic window roof with a diameter of 196m, and is 65m from the field to the top of the dome. It has an area of approximately 46,656m2 and can accommodate approximately 60,000 people. The temperature is always kept at around 23°C, and the grass is all artificial. In addition to baseball, it is also used for American football, circuses, rodeos, and various other gatherings. It is the franchise stadium of the Houston Astros, a member of Major League Baseball's National League.
