Asakusa Enshu-ryu

Enshu succeeded Furuta Oribe as the tea ceremony master to Shogun Iemitsu, and established the "Kirei Sabi" tea ceremony centered on the daisu during the heyday of feudal lord tea. This is expressed in the architecture that integrates the tea room, the chain room, and the shoin, which bring out classical beauty, and the tea ceremony is based on the imperial taste that arose from admiration for Fujiwara Teika. In the course of promoting feudal lord tea, the spirit that the way of tea ceremony leads to the way of human ethics is expressed in "Kakisute no Bun" (Letter of Discarding Writing). ...
