A type of curtain used in Kabuki plays. It is light blue, or asagi, and represents the outdoors during the day. Usually, at the beginning of a performance, this curtain is stretched behind the curtain and then cut and lowered at the appropriate time using a bamboo stopper hung from the ceiling, allowing the audience to instantly see the stage set and the actors. → Related items Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
