A port in Akita Prefecture. Located at the mouth of the Omono River. Established in July 1953. The port administrator is Akita Prefecture. Important port (designated January 1951). The port area is 2,770 hectares. Since the Edo period, it has developed as a shipping port for rice, lumber, and minerals. In the hinterland, there are a thermal power plant, a paper mill, a zinc refinery, and other facilities. There is a regular shipping route between Busan Port in South Korea. 秋田県にある港。雄物川の河口部に位置する。1953年7月設立。港湾管理者は、秋田県。重要港湾(1951年1月指定)。港湾区域面積は、2,770ヘクタール。江戸時代から米・木材・鉱産物などの積出港として発展。後背地には、火力発電所、製紙工場、亜鉛の精錬所などが立地。韓国・釜山港との間に定期航路がある。
