Aonohara

Aonohara
[1] A plain in the west of Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. It has been a frequent battlefield since ancient times. *Taiheiki (late 14th century) verse 19: "Musashi, leading over 10,000 troops from Ueno , marched out to Aonogahara ." [2] A plateau at the eastern end of the Kasai Plateau, in the center of the Banshu Plain in Hyogo Prefecture. It was developed in earnest by the Edo Shogunate in 1723. In 1891 , it became a training ground for the army.

[一] 岐阜県大垣市西方の野原。古来しばしば戦場となった。※太平記(14C後)一九「武蔵、上野の勢一万余騎を率(そっ)して、青野原(アヲノガハラ)に打出たり」[二] 兵庫県、播州平野の中央部、加西台地の東端にある台地。享保八年(一七二三)江戸幕府により本格的に開発される。明治二四年(一八九一)に陸軍の演習地ができた。
