Isle of Wight - Isle of Wight

…In ancient times it was called Vectis. Until 1974 it was part of Hampshire, but now it is part of the Isle of Wight. It is separated from the mainland by the Solent and Spithead, and is 37 km east to west and 21 km north to south in a diamond shape.
