A legendary Greek hero. Son of Thyestes and his daughter Pelopia. He was raised as the son of his uncle Atreus, who had married Pelopia, but when he grew up and was ordered to kill Thyestes, he discovered who his real father was and killed Atreus instead. Later, while Atreus' two sons, Agamemnon and Menelaus, were fighting in the Trojan War, he had an affair with Agamemnon's wife, Clytemnestra, and when Agamemnon returned home, he killed him and took the throne of Mycenae. However, when he grew up and returned home, Agamemnon's son Orestes killed both him and Clytemnestra.
