They named it kinetin and proved that it was 6-furfurylaminopurine. Since then, many researchers have shown that substances with kinetin-like activity exist in higher plants, and in 1964, DS Letham and CO Miller independently isolated a new kinetin-like substance, zeatin, from corn, and many other kinetin-like substances have been isolated from plants since then. It is now believed that kinetin itself is a by-product produced during the hydrolysis of yeast. …
