Yaksagana (English spelling)

...Manipuri group dance cannot be called folk dance because it has a group formation that is described in the Natyashastra but is not found in other dances. A dance drama similar to Kathakali is the Yakśagāna, a folk dance drama from southwestern Karnataka. The dancers wear makeup and crowns similar to those of Kathakali.
