There are about 200 species of dicotyledonous plants in 15 genera distributed from the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere to the subtropics of the Southern Hemisphere (Figure). Many of them, such as zelkova, elm, and Chinese hackberry, are useful as roadside trees.
