[Plant hairs]
A general term for the epidermal-derived structures among the hair-like appendages that grow on the surface of the body of higher plants. They are also called trichomes. They are found in various shapes on all plant organs, but since different species often have similar hairs, they serve as a good indicator for plant classification, and research into hairs, including classification, has developed based on historical observation and description of plant species.
