The literature of ancient China is no less than that of India. The Su Nu Jing, which was compiled by Ye Dehui (1864-1927) and was lost in China but was cited in the Japanese Ishinpo (written by Tanba Yasuyoshi and submitted in 984), contains an aphrodisiac that was recommended by Peng Zu and was made by mixing Mi jiao, Aconite fructus, and Poria cocoon. The Su Nu Jing also emphasizes the effect of Poria cocoon in increasing sexual desire, and the Gyoku Fang Bi Jie contains medicines to cure impotence and to enlarge the penis. The "Yufang Zhiyao" gives prescriptions for an aphrodisiac that was said to enable a man to have sex with 70 women in one night, and for drugs to lengthen the penis or reduce the size of the testicles, while the "Dong Xuanzi" gives prescriptions for deer antlers for impotence, Chang Yin Fang that lengthens the penis by 3 inches, stone sulfur that makes the genitals tight like those of 12- or 13-year-old girls, and Bald Chicken Pills that, when eaten by a rooster, would continue to peck at the hen's comb until it became bald. Meanwhile, the "Food Classic" lists deer kidney soup, mutton soup, Chinese herb soup, and other foods that are said to increase sexual desire and restore vitality, and provides recipes for them.

　古代中国の文献もインドに劣らない。本国では散逸したが日本の《医心方》(丹波康頼撰述，984奏進)などに引用されているのを葉徳輝(1864‐1927)がまとめた《素女経》には，彭祖が推奨する麋角（びかく），附子（ぶし），茯苓（ぶくりよう）などを混ぜた強精剤があり，《素女方》も茯苓の性欲増進効果を強調し，《玉房秘決》は陰萎を治す薬や陰茎を大きくする薬をあげ，《玉房指要》は一晩に70人の女と交わることもできたという催淫剤や，陰茎を長大にしたり玉門を小さくする薬の処方を述べ，《洞玄子》は陰萎に効く鹿角散，陰茎が3寸長くなる長陰方，12,13歳の少女のそれのように，陰部がきつくなる石硫黄，雄鶏が食べたら雌鶏の鶏冠が禿げるまで啄んで交接し続けたという禿鶏丸の処方を教えている。一方，《食経》には性欲をたかめ精を回復する食物として，鹿の腎の羹（あつもの），羊肉の羹，山薬飥（たく）その他が挙げられその調理法が記されている。…
