A book written by Hattori Yasuyasu (1619-81) on the orders of the feudal lord Hoshina Masayuki about the shrines in the Aizu domain. 1 volume. Completed in 1672 (Kanbun 12). Hoshina Masayuki, known as a wise ruler in the early modern period, was influenced by Confucian Shinto, Suika Shinto, and especially the Rigaku Shinto of Yoshikawa Koretari, but seeing the shrines in his domain falling into disrepair, in 1665 he ordered Tomomatsu Kanjuro, Kimura Chuemon, Hattori Yasuyasu and others to investigate and work to restore them. This book is a list in which Yasuyasu listed the names of 268 historic shrines in four counties: 89 in Aizu county, 76 in Yama county, 62 in Onuma county, and 41 in Kawanuma county. The book also includes prefaces by Hayashi Razan's son Gaho, grandson Houkou, and Yamazaki Ansai, as well as postscripts by Yoshikawa Koretari and Hattori Yasuyasu, and these provide insight into the Shinto administration of the Aizu domain.
