[Eiichi Asayama] The Japanese word sunflower means a flower that always faces the sun, and the kanji for sunflower and the French word tournesol have the same meaning. However, sunflowers do not always face the sun, so the English name sunflower (a flower that resembles the sun) is more appropriate.
