Helmer Lerski's Köpfe des Alltages (Faces of Everyday Life), published in 1931, was a close-up portrait of a worker, which did not seek to get to the inner world of the subject, but instead brought a sense of reality by realistically depicting human skin. These movements were in contrast to the way photography was done at the Bauhaus, which was developed by L.
