...In the 20th century, many works were created, including the lavish salon drama "The Merry Widow" (1905) by F. Lehár (1870-1948) and the human comedy "The Garden of Smiles" (1929). Meanwhile, Berlin-style operettas began with "Fraudulente Luna" (1899) by R. Lincke (1866-1946), and were written as simple operettas full of satire and vitality. After World War II, more than 130 operettas were composed between 1948 and 1965 due to the re-import of American musicals. In England, from around 1875, AS Sullivan gained a reputation for his satirical works such as "The Mikado" (1885), and his works were performed in New York, creating an operetta whirlwind in America. ...

…20世紀に入りレハールF.Lehár(1870‐1948)の豪華なサロン劇《メリー･ウィドー》(1905)や人情喜劇《ほほえみの園》(1929)をはじめ数多くの作品が作られた。一方ベルリン風オペレッタはリンケR.Lincke(1866‐1946)の《ルーナ夫人》(1899)に始まり風刺や活力あふれる簡潔なオペレッタが書かれ，第2次大戦後はアメリカのミュージカルの逆輸入によって1948‐65年に130以上ものオペレッタが作曲された。イギリスでも1875年ころからA.S.サリバンが《ミカド》(1885)その他の風刺的作品で評判をとり，彼の作品はニューヨークで上演されアメリカにオペレッタ旋風を送る。…
