It is said to have been compiled by his disciple Sansei Keizen. 1 volume. Rinzai was the name of the Zen temple where Yigen lived, which was founded by his devotees, the Chinzhou Wang clan. The Rinzai Record is a collection of his words and deeds, including his lifelong deeds and dialogues, centering on Yigen's sermons in the hall at the Chinzhou Rinzai Temple. The current version is a re-edited version from the Song dynasty, and as the sacred text of Rinzai Zen, it tends to emphasize the family tradition, but it certainly draws on the old records from the Tang dynasty, and is highly valued as a source of language, history, and thought. ...
